Thispipecoversforseveralgradesofcarbonandalloysteelmechanicaltubing,eitherhot-finishedorcold-finished.Thesteelusedinthemechanicaltubingmaybecastiningotsormaybestrandcast.Whensteelofdifferentgradesissequentiallystrandcast,identificationoftheresultanttransitionmaterialisrequired.Theseamlesstubingisatubularproductmadewithoutaweldedseam.Itisusuallymanufacturedbyhotworkingsteel,andifnecessary,bysubsequentlycoldfinishingthehot-workedtubularproducttoproducethedesiredshape,dimensionsandproperties.
Thetubesshallbefurnishedinthefollowingshapes:round,square,rectangularandspecialsections.Heatanalysisshallbemadetodeterminethepercentagesoftheelementsspecified.Ifsecondarymeltingprocessesareused,theheatanalysisshallbeobtainedfromoneremeltedingotortheproductofoneremeltedingotofeachprimarymelt.Thetubingshallbecoatedwithafilmofoilbeforeshapingtoretardrustwhenspecified
